Wyatt's War

This story is engaging and light. Unfortunately, that means some of the trauma of PTSD has been glossed over; if the story had been longer, that could have been delved into more deeply. The book also wraps up quickly, rushing to the finish line. Nevertheless, it's still a good selection for fans of military romances.

Ashes, Ashes, They All Fall Dead

This romantic suspense novel from Diaz (Simon Says Die) is reminiscent of early Sandra Brown and Catherine Coulter, when those authors were still known as romance writers. The story here is not all about the romance yet the romance is not pushed aside as it would be in a harder-hitting mystery/suspense novel. A good selection from an author this reviewer expects to be big in the coming years.

Love in Flames

This book tries to be both cozy and steamy but fails on both counts. It feels dated and very 1980s, and the cover art doesn't help. Love in Flames is not the worst read, but it might fit better in the "only if desperate" category.—Ryan A. Franklin, Mattoon P.L., IL

Cipher
